Photography Contest

To celebrate the official opening of The Cyprian Garden we are holding a photography contest that is open to all.  All entries must be photos taken in the Cyprian Garden, but can be whatever theme you desire.

Do assure that you read the requirements and guidelines listed below.  Pictures that do not meet the requirements may be disqualified.

1. All pictures must be taken in The Cyprian Garden, the theme beyond that is up to you.􀀀
2. The photography needs to be done in SL. Meaning that the people in the shot and the environment MUST be in SL. The items can then be taken into something else (like Photoshop) and touched up if need be but over 80% of the picture needs to be verified as pure SL.
3. The finished product must be 1024x768 and in color.
4. Absolutely NO text is allowed in the picture.
5. The winner will be judged by visitors to the Garden.  Note that our voting system does not allow for popularity contests.  You are welcome to invite your friends to vote for you but having them spam vote your entry will not work.
6. ANYONE can enter this contest.  There can be up to two ( 2 ) entries per person maximum. 
7. By submitting your picture into the contest, you submit all rights to your picture to The Cyprian Garden and its owners. Credit will be given to the photographer if the images are used afterward.
8. Pictures MUST be FULL permissions, and be submitted by Friday, Sept 27th, 12:00 am SLT! Registration form must be submitted at the time of submission. Send registration form to Dorian Meredith.

Registration Form: Obtain one in world by contacting contest administrators.

*make sure to fill in the artists name in the [name here] section of the title of the registration form.

The winners will be judged by visitors to The Cyprian Garden.

Prizes:
1st place - L$3000
2nd place - L$1500
3rd place - L$500

Voting for the event will be from Saturday, Sept 28 @ 9:00 am SLT to end Sunday, Sept 29th @ 12:00 am SLT.  Feel free to be as unique and creative as you want, as long as all the rules within are followed.  If you have any questions regard them to Dorian Meredith or Mellyn Llewellyn.

• Entries will be judged by your peers and visitors to Leather and Lace BDSM Community and Auction House.
• If you use PhotoShop or any other editing program, you cannot alter the outfit itself in any way.
• All photos will be posted on the contest board located just outside the auction area on the Leather and Lace Sim. The sooner you enter, the better your chances are.
• The top 3 winners of each contest will be presented with a gift card to be used in Carrie's Lingerie Store.

 First place will be a 1,000L gift card.

 Second place will be a 500L gift card.

 Third place will be a 200L gift card.

HOW TO ENTER:

✿ Take a photo of your avatar that follows the contest theme (Lingerie, silks, a specific color of silks, etc) (There is a photo studio at the Carrie's store which you are free to use. Leather and lace also provides two areas with backdrops and poses. You are welcome to use any, but not required to do so.)

✿ Be creative...think outside the box...you may use editing to get the look you want.

✿ Name the photo with your full avatar's name (user name NOT display name).

✿ Click on an available spot on the contest board, which will load your profile picture. The drag and drop your photo entry on to the same box. (L&L Staff will be on hand to help, if you need it.)


RULES:
☞ Must be wearing something that follows the specific theme for the contest. Failure to follow the theme well result in disqualification.
☞The picture must be of the person whose name appears in the photo.
☞ Only one entry per person.
☞If you are the winner of the contest you may not participate in the next one. You can participate again after skipping one contest
☞ You cannot vote for yourself.
☞ You can vote one time every day
☞Anyone participating in the contest or voting must be at least 2 weeks old
☞ Current Leather and Lace staff are not eligible.
☞ Feel free to invite your friends to come and vote for you.
☞ HAVE FUN!!

Domain Imperium: B/w Photography Contest

Hello people!  We're back and reopening with a contest. This theme will be Black and White Domination and Submission, couples!  Couples is a requirement, toys can be included, but the focus of the image -must be- Domination and submission.

1.) All pictures must be black and white with 2 people in the shot. The genre is Dominance and submission.

2.) The photography needs to be done in SL. Meaning that the people in the shot and the environment MUST be in SL. The items can then be taken into something else (like Photoshop) and touched up if need be but over 80% of the picture needs to be verified as pure SL.

-   In "pay to join mode" you can use more than one photo board to participate in the contest. Only the highest vote count will be considered on winner selection. It can be an advantage to occupy more than one board but also a disadvantage. You choose the strategy. But please, be considerate: others want to participate as well.
     In "free join mode" you are permitted to acquire only one photo board.
-   People caught cheating will immediately be removed by the owner/host without notice or refunds.
-   Anyone trying to manipulate the contest or disturbing it by their actions will be removed and banned.
-   The contest host's decisions are always final and there is no discussion about their decisions.
-   For further questions contact the host or the owner of the system.

Joining
-------------------------
Depending on the mode of the contest you can join for free by touching one of the unused photo boards or
join by paying the required join fee to an empty photo board.
The photo board will try to load your profile picture and display it. Once loaded, you can now change it by loading another photo/texture into it. In order to do that, hold down the CTRL key and drag a picture from your inventory onto the photo board while holding down the left mouse button. The frame will highlight to red and you can release the left mouse button. The picture/texture has to be FULLPERM (also for next owner - see bottom of properties page) due to technical reasons. If done properly the picture will be displayed and the photo board changes to voting mode.

Changing your picture

To change your picture, touch the sign and you will receive a menu with some options:
    - Load Picture:     Changes the photo board to picture loading mode. Update your picture by following the instructions above. Touch to keep the picture and  to proceed to voting mode again. (This will happen automatically after 2 minutes as well).
    - Profile Picture:  Tries to load you profile picture onto the photo board. After that it will change to the "Picture Loading mode". Touch to keep the picture and to proceed to voting mode again. (This will happen automatically after 2 minutes as well). If you have disabled "show in search" in your profile, the system will not be able to acquire your profile picture. On change it will take up to 24 hours until it will be available.
    - Close Menu:       Closes the menu with no action
    - Abandon:            Abandon will close the photo board and remove yourself from the contest. Attention: No refunds!
                                 
Voting
-------------------------
Depending on the mode (free vote / voting fee) you can either vote by clicking on a photo board or by paying the assigned voting fee.
In free vote mode you have between 1 and 10 votes which you can cast on any of the photo boards - even all on one.
The board will tell you how much votes are left each time you vote for a person.
You can NOT vote for yourself. In case of a voting fee the payed amount will NOT be paid back if you try to vote for yourself!

Winner selection
-------------------------
The owner/host decides when they will close the contest and select a winner.
The current 5 top voted are listed on the main display along with their current votes.
The prize will be split to the top three contestants as 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. On a draw (same amount of votes) there will be no split of the prize amount - the system internally selects who of them will be 1st or 2nd (e.g. 2nd or 3rd).
The first ranked person can additionally win an item prize.
The winner names will be announced in open chat and also displayed on the Photo Contest System.

New Sim, New Opportunities

There is a point in SL where staying on your sim, working, building and otherwise not looking up, provides you with a dull environment. I took a chance and some time tonight to wander and do some sim hopping. Looking for a few new hangouts and even some photo ops should they provide themselves to me.  And I found a wonderful one... one that just had to be shared.

I hit the "Domaine Imperium" sim. A new Adult based sim that caters to the lifestyle of BDSM and D/s. Some may not find this their cup of tea, and others, may want to explore, but if there is one thing that impressed me was the fact that I landed right smack dab in the middle of a photography contest on the run. A sincere voting option at the base of each black and white photo that ultimately carries a prize and the honor of being hung in the manor.

Lady Laurie has assured me there is to be 2 more additional contests that will ultimately fill their walls of positive photography elements in SL as well a rotating gallery as time progresses.

I wanted to share this chance, and we have agreed that offering you all the chance to show your talent at this venue was needed. So... until the new contest comes, I encourage you to visit and vote to support the photographers who are currently on display and start thinking of your ideas for what you might wish to display as the new contests come available.
