Rules
-------------------------
-   In "pay to join mode" you can use more than one photo board to participate in the contest. Only the highest vote count will be considered on winner selection. It can be an advantage to occupy more than one board but also a disadvantage. You choose the strategy. But please, be considerate: others want to participate as well.
     In "free join mode" you are permitted to acquire only one photo board.
-   People caught cheating will immediately be removed by the owner/host without notice or refunds.
-   Anyone trying to manipulate the contest or disturbing it by their actions will be removed and banned.
-   The contest host's decisions are always final and there is no discussion about their decisions.
-   For further questions contact the host or the owner of the system.

Joining
-------------------------
Depending on the mode of the contest you can join for free by touching one of the unused photo boards or
join by paying the required join fee to an empty photo board.
The photo board will try to load your profile picture and display it. Once loaded, you can now change it by loading another photo/texture into it. In order to do that, hold down the CTRL key and drag a picture from your inventory onto the photo board while holding down the left mouse button. The frame will highlight to red and you can release the left mouse button. The picture/texture has to be FULLPERM (also for next owner - see bottom of properties page) due to technical reasons. If done properly the picture will be displayed and the photo board changes to voting mode.

Changing your picture
-------------------------
To change your picture, touch the sign and you will receive a menu with some options:
    - Load Picture:     Changes the photo board to picture loading mode. Update your picture by following the instructions above. Touch to keep the picture and  to proceed to voting mode again. (This will happen automatically after 2 minutes as well).
    - Profile Picture:  Tries to load you profile picture onto the photo board. After that it will change to the "Picture Loading mode". Touch to keep the picture and to proceed to voting mode again. (This will happen automatically after 2 minutes as well). If you have disabled "show in search" in your profile, the system will not be able to acquire your profile picture. On change it will take up to 24 hours until it will be available.
    - Close Menu:       Closes the menu with no action
    - Abandon:            Abandon will close the photo board and remove yourself from the contest. Attention: No refunds!
                                 
Voting
-------------------------
Depending on the mode (free vote / voting fee) you can either vote by clicking on a photo board or by paying the assigned voting fee.
In free vote mode you have between 1 and 10 votes which you can cast on any of the photo boards - even all on one.
The board will tell you how much votes are left each time you vote for a person.
You can NOT vote for yourself. In case of a voting fee the payed amount will NOT be paid back if you try to vote for yourself!

Winner selection
-------------------------
The owner/host decides when they will close the contest and select a winner.
The current 5 top voted are listed on the main display along with their current votes.
The prize will be split to the top three contestants as 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize. On a draw (same amount of votes) there will be no split of the prize amount - the system internally selects who of them will be 1st or 2nd (e.g. 2nd or 3rd).
The first ranked person can additionally win an item prize.
The winner names will be announced in open chat and also displayed on the Photo Contest System.

New Sim, New Opportunities

There is a point in SL where staying on your sim, working, building and otherwise not looking up, provides you with a dull environment. I took a chance and some time tonight to wander and do some sim hopping. Looking for a few new hangouts and even some photo ops should they provide themselves to me.  And I found a wonderful one... one that just had to be shared.

I hit the "Domaine Imperium" sim. A new Adult based sim that caters to the lifestyle of BDSM and D/s. Some may not find this their cup of tea, and others, may want to explore, but if there is one thing that impressed me was the fact that I landed right smack dab in the middle of a photography contest on the run. A sincere voting option at the base of each black and white photo that ultimately carries a prize and the honor of being hung in the manor.

Lady Laurie has assured me there is to be 2 more additional contests that will ultimately fill their walls of positive photography elements in SL as well a rotating gallery as time progresses.

I wanted to share this chance, and we have agreed that offering you all the chance to show your talent at this venue was needed. So... until the new contest comes, I encourage you to visit and vote to support the photographers who are currently on display and start thinking of your ideas for what you might wish to display as the new contests come available.

Gorean Photo Exhibition events in Ichrak will follow principles as below

1. Events will encourage gorean photographers to show their talents in gorean community.
2. Events should NOT damage photographer's reputation but improve it.
3. Events aim to create friendly learning environment among Gorean photographers, sharing experience and skill. 
4. Events aim to improve photographer's business, not damage it (welcome more creative ideas) 
5. photographers might get business request through event, to avoid price competition. DISCUSSING BUSINESS THROUGH EVENTS IS NOT ALLOWED but photographers can book appt. with clients and discuss outside of events. 
6. please write a short introduction about yourself (less 50 words, about your name,  your owner's      name if you are slave, homestone city,  and your passion about photography) .

My experience at PhotoHunt: First time around.

I recently had the greatest time that I was able to take an hour of my day in SL and spend it at at the Photohunt accepting the challenge that I have not ever done before. Ultimaetly it was a great experience and you can see more of it here (watch for the red head in the sexy outfit... that's me!)

***Vampires Photo Contest*** JUNE/JULY 2012

Find your inner vamp in our fun new Flickr photo contest! You will need to have a flickr account and join the Illuminati Domus:Paradise Lost flickr group in order to enter (see below for details). You don't have to be a vampire in order to enter our contest, and you can take your inspiration from legend, novels, films, whatever you wish. Be creative and have fun! Your photo must be taken at Paradise Lost and include vampires as its theme, in order to be eligible to enter the contest.

June 4th - July 6th 2012

Prize
1st prize - $1500L
2nd prize - $1000L
3rd prize - $500L

How to enter
1. Take photos of yourself and/or others in a vampire theme on Paradise Lost island, and post them in the Illuminati Domus:Paradise Lost Flickr group:

You must sign up to flickr.com in order to be able to do this (this is very easy and takes only a couple of minutes, it's free and all you need is an email address - you can use your SL name for this if you need to make a new email address). It is also free to save your pictures from Second Life onto your computer hard drive. You may enter as many times as you wish and the contest is open to everyone in SL.

*All entrants must follow these rules otherwise they will be disqualified.*

2. Photo editing is allowed, but not essential. Experiment with SL's shadows, depth of field and windlight effects at your leisure and take the most imaginative and creative shots of Paradise Lost Vampires that you can. If you want to try editing, you can download GIMP editing software for free at https://www.download-free.com/photo-editor?source=ga. You can also use www.picmonkey.com to edit work quickly and easily.

3. Your pics can be in any style you wish, as long as they are to do with vampires, use your imagination! Will you be Count Dracula, an ancient Egyptian Vampire, a modern vampire?!
NB - The roleplaying Vampires in the Illuminati Domus family are "enlightened" vampires who try to fight against their evil origins, they never bite anyone who has not shown an interest in being bitten! But anyone can enter this contest and dress up as Paradise Lost vampires or find some vampires to take photos of!

NB: The photos can include any vampire themes, and do have fun, but please, don't include anything that could be described as pornographic or that contains too much gore!! (The flickr group is not an "over 18" group - subtle nudity or blood trickles are allowed, if you have any questions, please contact me.)

4. The title for your contest entry to Flickr should be:
"Paradise Lost Vampires - Contest Entry" - you can add a subtitle as well if you wish. If you don't include this as your title, your entry will not be accepted for the contest.

5. Only the three winning photographers who enter on flickr will receive the prizes. If you choose to share your prize with the person/people in the photograph/s this is up to you. The Judges' decision is final.

6. The closing date is final, anything submitted after this time will not be accepted.

7. The winning photos will be chosen by a panel of judges. By entering the contest you agree to allow Illuminati Domus to display your work on Paradise Lost Island.

8. The three winners will be announced on Flickr and the Illuminati Domus inworld group on July 8th, and the prizes given on this date as well.
